Consumer Products Ingredient Dictionary 2014 in CD-ROM, Consumer Speciality Products Association
The First Update to the Second Edition of the
Dictionary is now available, featuring 487 Ingredient Monographs defining 988
trade names from 51 suppliers, and defining 1,866 technical or other names for
those ingredients - a total of several hundred pages of technical information
specific to consumer product uses. The
CSPA Dictionary was created to provide standard nomenclature for companies
participating in the voluntary industry ingredient communication initiative.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Design for the Environment
(DfE) Standard for Safer Products also identifies the CSPA Dictionary as an
appropriate nomenclature system and encourages its use for DfE participants for
the ingredient communication required for DfE partnered products.
Even if
your company is not yet involved in ingredients communication, the CSPA
Dictionary is an excellent reference for R&D lab and regulatory staff, with
extensive information in each ingredient monograph, and you can also search for
ingredients by chemical class, functions, and lots more. In addition to its
primary purpose, the Dictionary now provides valuable benefits to:
§ Product formulation scientists, who
can use it to search for what ingredients are currently used in consumer
products by product category, chemical class, use function and other technical
descriptors, and find out who supplies them, and under what trade names they
are sold;
§ Regulatory compliance personnel, who
can find further information on ingredients, including VOC/LVP status in consumer
product air quality regulations and information useful for Safety Data Sheets;
and,
§ Ingredient suppliers, who can file
applications for their ingredients and brand names to be included and made
known to product formulators
